CowAbuNgA bAy....

A couple of weeks ago I was able to get some free tickets to the opening night of Cowabunga Bay. Kayston has been BEGGING us to go there ever since it opened but it's pretty friggen expensive and from what it looked like, it seemed to more for older kids. Sooo, we thought since it was free that we would try it out. Now, this was in the beginning of May...at night (4-7) so I wasn't exactly sure how warm/cold it was going to be. Lucky for us it was one of the warmer days we've had. However, when you're standing at the top of the slides waiting in line, it's a different story. Needless to say, we only went down a couple of slides cause it was too chilly up there. They heated up the lazy river to 95 degrees though and it felt soooooo nice! We spent most of our time playing in there.
I was right about it being more for the older kids. Kayston braved the biggest slide and did NOT like it. He ended up bonking his head on the way down. They did have some fun things for the younger kids but the slides were all pretty big.
Overall, I'm glad we went but I'm even more glad it was FREE! I don't think we'll be going back until the kids are older.

This kid is so funny! He plugs his nose but as soon as he's under water, he unplugs it!Kayston and daddy at the top of the biggest slide

Easter....better late than never!

For some reason I totally forgot to write about Easter! Oops!

This Easter was pretty fun! Even if the weather was crappy and cold!
The kids woke up to find that the Easter Bunny had hid their Easter baskets AGAIN!

Brylee found hers first, it was hidden in the laundry room. She got lots of treats, a new swimsuit, flip flops, bubbles, Minnie Mouse undies, a dress, and some plastic jewelry.
She LOOOOOVED her new Minnie Mouse panties! Kayston found his under the kitchen sink. The Easter bunny must have known that this is Kayston's favorite hiding spot too! He also got a new swimsuit, flip flops, some bubbles, a blue dragon, treats, a new shirt and tie, and some spelling books. This dragon was by far his favorite gift. He has been asking us for months to get him this thing. Brylee found Kenley's basket in the pantry while she was looking for hers. Kenley got a new dress, swim suit, flip flops, a photo book, and a rattle.
She was quite curious about her basket and while I was trying to take a picture of her by it, she kept trying to get it and would topple over! Being the mean mom that I am...I just kept taking pictures!Hmmm, what is this colorful thing that has been put be for me?A little help?Oh great! How am I gonna get out of this one?Seriously Mom?? HELP!!!! Oh geese! I still crack up when I see that picture!

Later that day we went over to my parents house for a yummy dinner and an Easter egg hunt! The kids had a blast and found tons of eggs! Of course my mom spoils them and got them another basket from her with all sorts of fun treats and toys! (I forgot to take my camera to my parents house so I don't have any pictures from over there! hint hint, mom!)
When we got home, we read scriptures and talked about Jesus and his resurrection and the true reason we celebrate Easter. We hope everyone had a Happy Easter!

So long oxygen...

Kenley had an appointment with the ENT on Monday. I emailed him a video of her breathing and he got us right in. He said it was possible that she might need a second surgery. After seeing her and taking another look down her throat, he discovered that she still has a pretty bad case of reflux. He said that it could be causing swelling which could be causing her noisy breathing. So, we put her back on the reflux meds and we'll see him again in 6 weeks to see if it helps. If not, then we still could be looking at another surgery. He also had her do another overnight oxygen monitoring at home and the results were pretty good. Good enough that we got to say adios to this crap!!!I told the guy as he was leaving with it that I hope we never see him again! Was that rude?? =)
So glad to be done with that.

On a cuter note...I ordered a whole bunch of baby leg warmers and I am now obsessed with them! I mean seriously, can it get any cuter than this??There's some super cute ones so I'll have to do a fashion show and post some more pics!

Mother's Day

This year Mother's Day was great! It started Saturday when I got home from work and found this...Homemade cards, flowers, and a book Kayston made for me at school! It was the cutest thing I have ever seen! It went like this...

A Mom and her Boy
By Kayston Robertson

This is a story about a mom and her boy who,
in many ways, were different.

I like vanilla ice cream.
My mom likes chocolate ice cream.

Mom likes potty training. I hate it.
I like to teach my baby sister how to brush her teeth.

My mom likes to have a nap.
I like to play.

The mom and her boy were alike in many ways, too.

I like to eat fish and my mom likes to eat fish.

I like growing yummy vegetables in my garden.
My mom likes the same thing.

Me and my mom are like the goodest artists in my family.

But the way they were most alike was the
most special way of all.

Because, you see, they loved each other and
liked to give hugs!!

Is that not the sweetest thing! Every time I read it I tear up! And of course he drew cute pictures with every page! Ahhh, it melts my heart!

Later that night Preston had arranged for my parents to watch the kids so he could take me out to dinner! We ended up going to a place called Epic and it was actually really yummy.
After dinner we did some shopping and grabbed some ice cream. I always enjoy a night out with my man!!!
Sunday was great as well. I didn't have to change any diapers, wipe any bums, or do a thing in the kitchen!! I pretty much just relaxed the entire day! Oh, and my sweet kids came up to me about 10 times each and gave me a hug and said..."happy mother's day!" So sweet!
Later that night my parents came over for a delicious dinner made by my hubby! It was a fun and relaxing day! I wish everyday could be Mother's Day!! =)

Kenley's 4 month stats

Length: 26.5 in=99%
Weight: 15lbs=90%
Head: 41.5cm=75%

For some reason I dread taking her to the Doctor! Maybe it's because every time we do, it's not what we want to hear!
Today the Doctor told me that he wants us to take her to see a pulmonologist since her breathing is still very noisy and she is working a little too hard to breath. He is also worried about her muscle tone and wants me to bring her back in a few weeks instead of waiting to see her at her 6 month appointment. I'm not too worried about that. I'm pretty sure it's because we hardly ever lay her on her tummy cause she hates it so bad! I feel so bad for her and if there is anything that makes it harder for her to breath, I pretty much avoid it!
I'm just ready for her to be 100% healthy! I hate watching her sleep and seeing her gasp for air every few minutes. I hate seeing her little chest work so hard just to breath! I hate going to bed every night worrying about her! I hate being so paranoid that I avoid taking her places or even having people over in fear that she will catch something!
The Doctor also told me that I should still keep her home from church since there is a respiratory virus going around and if she were to catch it, she would most likely end up in the hospital!
They say that she will grow out of it but in the mean time, what is all of this doing to her poor little body?!
One things for sure...I couldn't ask for a better OR cuter baby! This little angel has been sleeping 10-12 hours a night for a while now! She never cries and her smile will melt your heart! I seriously can't get enough of her and I know now, how it feels to have an addiction!! =)
