6 years ago today...

6 years ago today, I was pretty anxious! I was pregnant and due to have my baby any day! I had been dilated for 3 weeks, every week one more centimeter. On this day, which also happened to be a Thursday, I went to my scheduled weekly doctors appointment. I had decided to finally ask her to strip my membranes to hurry up the process. As she was checking me she told me that I was at a 5. Are you kidding me? Why have I not had this baby? So, as she continued to check me, Preston made the SILLY remark that it would be okay if she accidentally broke my water. Ha Ha! Well, not even 20 seconds later, that exact thing happened! My water had broke and got all over the chair the floor and yes...even the doctor.
You always think that you are SO ready to have this baby until it is really happening. I started to get pretty scared at that point!
The doctor told me that she would see me over at the hospital in a little while. So, I packed my pants with those blue liners that they use on hospital beds and I was on my way!!
Before making it to the hospital though, I had to stop off at my work to let everybody know that I was finally having my baby!
When we got to the hospital, my parents were already there freaking out cause I wasn't there yet. They looked at me like I was crazy when I told them I stopped at the Credit Union first!
When I finally got all situated, the nurse came in to check me. I was at a 7 and still having NO contractions!! I thought this was going to be a walk in the park! Well, not too long after that, the contractions started coming. I was able to bare them for a while but then they started coming FAST and STRONG! I of course opted for an epidural. Awwww, heaven! Anyway, when it finally came time to push, my little guy had a different plan. He did not want to come out of his comfy little home. I ended up pushing for over 3 1/2 hours with NO progress what so ever. So, the doctor finally said that we were going to have to have a C-section. Not exactly what I was hoping for or expecting, but at this point I was so exhausted, I just wanted him OUT!!!
So, at 8:20 PM, we delivered a 7lb 9oz little boy! We were ecstatic! My whole life I wanted to be a mommy and it had finally happened!!

6 years ago today, our lives changed forever!

We are so blessed to have this little boy in our lives! Even though he has brought us MANY hard times, he has also brought so much joy into our lives and has taught us SO much! I think that we have learned more from him than he has from us!!
Kayston is the silliest most creative kid I know. He is so energetic and wants to experience everything life has to offer! This kid has NO fear and will show up a 12 year old on the rock wall any day!! We love you so much buddy and we are SO thankful that you are a part of our family!!

Happy 6th Birthday! Love, Mommy, Daddy & Brylee!!

First hair cut...

I took Bry with me today to get my hair done and while we were there, she also got her very first hair cut! I know what you're probably thinking..."does she even have enough hair to get a hair cut?" Well, not really but it was starting to grow into a mullet! Not cute!! She was such a good girl and didn't even cry! However, she didn't want to go first so while I was under the dryer, she decided she was brave enough to get hers done. She loved wearing her pink cape and she even got a sucker...or 2! She kept looking in the mirror and saying "oh, cute!" (you have to actually hear her to know how cute she sounds!) She even told me I looked cute with all the foils in my hair! =)
Before...OK, this isn't really the best bef
ore pic but, oh well!

Thanks Holly! You rock! After...

I LOVE having a little girl and I can't wait to do more girlie things with her!!!

I decided to start up a new blog just for me. Mostly just to let off steam and to jot down some feelings and emotions I am going through. Enjoy!

Thirty, Flirty, and Thriving???

Yep! That's right, I turned the big 3-0!! I'm not sure how this happened so soon! I don't feel old enough to be 30! I remember when I was younger I used to think that I will NEVER be 16 and then it was 18 and then 21. You want so much to grow up when you're younger and now all I want is to STOP getting older!
So, my actual Birthday day was pretty crappy! It started with a 4am wake up to my sweet Brylee barfing! She was fine after and went back to sleep fine. When she woke up later that morning, she acted totally fine. So, I decided that we would keep our appointment to get our hair done. After I dropped Kayston off at school, we were on our way. So I thought! About 10 minutes into the drive she started puking in the backseat. GREAT! So, I turned the car around and we headed home. Any of you that has had a child barf in the car knows it is the WORST! It got all over the seat and puddled up in the bottom of her car seat! (am I being too graphic??) So, I took her inside to clean her up and then went back to deal with the car seat. Well, it's buckled to the car so I couldn't get the darn thing out. To make matters worse, when I reached under to try and get it out, throw up was dripping through and onto my hand! (insert dry heave sound here!!) So, I decided at that moment that I would leave the car seat for my sweet husband to deal with. So, I rolled down all the windows and left it! Sorry Babe!
Luckily for me, she only ended up throwing up 1 more time after that.

Don't worry lovey, mommy forgives you for ruining her special day! How could I ever stay mad at this???
The rest of the day still ended up being pretty lame! That is, until my hubby surprised me by coming home early. He had my mom come over to watch the kids for a while and he took me to Costco and bought me my new favorite treat...Pirates Booty! Yumm! Anyway, when we got home, I felt a lot better and one of my bestest friends Kim stopped by for my special day! Preston surprised me with a "little hill" rice krispy cake that was SO cute and a GARMIN for my present! I have been wanting one for a while now so I was SO happy to get it!
Even though the day started out crappy, it ended great, thanks to my wonderful friends and family!Saturday I was able to celebrate again with some more of my awesome friends up at Macaroni Grill. This was not our original plan. We were supposed to meet at the Cheesecake Factory but it was a 3 hour wait! Are you kidding me?? No thanks! So, we decided to eat somewhere else! I LOVE my friends so much and I feel so blessed to have them in my life!

I also had a great Birthday Eve! My awesome friend Carrie, came and got me and took me to dinner and then for a nice relaxing steam. Ahhh, it was so nice! After our steam, we went in the pedicure room and painted our toes! Funny story about that. It was pretty dim in there and I couldn't really tell what color polish I was picking. I thought it looked like a bronzeish pinkish color but when I got home it was like a pale purpleish, pinkish, blush color. Not really my color but it made me laugh!
When I got home from my relaxing night, I walked in and the kitchen was all decorated for me by my cute little family! I loved it! It was such a fun and relaxing night! Thanks Carrie and thanks to all my great friends who made turning 30 a little easier!

Bry's 2 year stats!

Length: 38" = WAY OFF THE CHARTS!
Weight: 32 lbs. = 97%
Head: 49 cm = 90%

Yes, they were a little concerned about how tall she is, that is, until I told him how tall Preston's family is. I wondered why they would worry about her being so tall. I always wished I was a little taller. Then I remembered a show I watched the night before on TLC about a 13 year old boy that is like 7 ft tall and a 15 year old girl that is 6'9. Yikes!
But, I know that she's going to be fine and she will hopefully love being tall! Kayston has always been tall too. What can I say, we breed em tall! =)
I love every single inch of these kiddos and I wouldn't change one single thing about them!!!
