Monster Trucks & Masks!

This last weekend we decided to go to the Monster Truck show up at the E Center. I hadn't been to one in forever and I really wanted to take Kayston to see one. It was pretty fun. We waited in line a LONG time to go down into the "pit" to get a closer look at the trucks. They ended up opening the doors 40 minutes later than scheduled and then of course that pushed back the show form starting on time! So, we did a lot of waiting and Kayston started getting "boring"! (when he's bored he always says that he is "so boring"!) The actual show (when it finally did start) was okay. They show a lot of other stuff and not enough of the Monster Trucks! If they would show more of the Monster Trucks it would be way more fun! Oh, I would SO love to drive one of those things! (I think it's my inner WT dream) They ended up bringing out a school bus at the end for the trucks to drive over and Kayston thought that was pretty funny! We had a good night and it was something fun to take Kayston to. He has been doing awesome in school and last week he got 5 smiley faces (which has never happened) and 2 so far this week! We're so proud of him!

Masks...

One of my New Years resolutions was to do one silly thing a day with my kiddos. On this particular day, we decided to make masks. Daddy was home so he was able to join in on the fun!
I decided to be a witch, Daddy was a joker (DUH!), Kayston was a scary pumpkin head and Bry was a princess! We had a lot of fun making and wearing these silly masks!

Resolutions....

So, Im usually not the best about making and KEEPING New Years Resolutions but this year is going to be different.
My first and most important resolution is to attend the temple at least once a month. I made this resolution last year and I think we made it to April. But hey, we've already gone this month so we're off to a good start!
#2- be more PATIENT! I have always had a hard time with this. I tend to take things personally when I really shouldn't.
#3- Don't sweat the small stuff! Does it really matter if there are a few crumbs on the kitchen floor or if there are dishes in the sink? NO! I'm working on this!
#4- Get my butt back to the gym and start running again! And hopefully run at least a 10K. Unless certain circumstances prohibit me from doing so! =)
#5- Pick my battles! This kind of goes with #2. I'm trying to not let every little whine or back talk get to me. Even if it means that I have to just walk away for a minute!
#6- Take more pictures! Now that I have my new camera, I have no excuse not to be taking a million pictures of these cute kids of mine!
#7- Start having Family Night/FHE! We have always used the excuse that our kids are too young (lame excuse I know) but not anymore!
#8- Read my scriptures DAILY! This is another goal that I go back and forth on. I'll do so good at reading every night and then for some reason, I just stop. Even if it's only 1 chapter a night. It's better than nothing, right?
#9- To do 1 silly thing with my kids everyday!

Well, this is all I have so far! I'm sure more things will come to me later, but for right now, I consider these to be the most important things that I need to do to help improve mine and my family's life!
