How did this happen????
Well, it's official...today I am the mother of a Kindergartener. How could this happen?? Where has the time gone? Next thing you know we'll be sending him off on his Mission.
He has been a little nervous the past few days so I decided it would be fun to have a little party to celebrate him going into Kindergarten. So, last night I made his favorite dinner...tacos, and daddy brought home some balloons and decorated the kitchen. He couldn't figure out what was going on so I told him we were having a party to celebrate him going to Kindergarten. He was SO excited!! And even more excited when Grandma and Grandpa showed up. After dinner we gave him a new BUG backpack that we bought for him and I filled it with lots of fun things for him. He LOVED it! He had such a fun time and it made him so excited to start Kindergarten.

Today when he woke up he was excited to go to school and not nervous at all. =) I decided that he would ride the bus but then I would follow him and go help him find his class. So, we walked over to bus stop and waited. I don't know if I was the only mother who's first child was going off to Kindergarten but I was getting a lot of weird stares as I was taking a million pictures. =)
When the bus came he took off and climbed right on in. I was so nervous that no one would let him sit by them and that I would have to kick some mean kids butt! =) He had no trouble at all and waved to me as they were driving off.
When I got to his school he came running up to me and told me that he loved that bus and that it was his favorite. We soon found his class and he went right over and stood in line. As they were walking off I have to admit, I got teary eyed. And no, they were not tears of joy like I was expecting. =) It just hit me that my little boy is growing up and this is just the beginning of a new life for him.
Kayston, mommy and daddy are so proud of you! We know that you are going to love school and that you are going to do GREAT!!! You are such a big boy now and I am so PROUD to be your mommy! We love you so much!!!
Love,
Mommy & Daddy!!

Timpanogas Cave....
This past weekend we decided it would be fun to take Kayston and go hike Timpanogas Cave. I've only hiked it once and it was when we were first married so it had been a while. We invited our friends Kim and Mike to come along too. It ended up being National Parks weekend so we didn't have to pay a dime.... which makes it even better.
We got up there around 9:15 and started the hike. I'm a little paranoid and made Kayston hold my hand the entire time. I think this made the hike even more difficult since I was pretty much pulling him the whole way. But seriously, I couldn't believe that there was no rail or anything on the edge and the path is pretty narrow and very steep. I got a little nervous at some parts. The hike was pretty difficult but very pretty and we couldn't have asked for better weather. Kayston did way better than we expected. He didn't complain too much and was surprisingly ok with holding my hand.
The cave is awesome! I forgot how big it was and how many neat things there are to see. Kayston loved it and he was so excited that he got to see a real BAT!! He had been asking us if there were bats and we told him probably not, so that was a great bonus.
Coming down the mountain is just as tough as going up if you ask me. My hips are definitely feeling it today.
Overall, we had a great time! Too bad baby sis didn't get to come, but I'm sure she had just as fun at Gramma's house!! =)

Midnight MOON Run...
My friends and I just did another 5K in Sandy this past weekend. It was a Midnight Moon Run and it was SOOOO much fun! I was a little worried since my hip has been bothering me lately so I just went in with NO expectations, except to have fun. It was my friend Dara's first race. I had been trying to get her to run a race with me for a while, so when I told her about this one she finally gave in and stared training. She was positive she wouldn't run it in under 40 minutes. Our time ended up being just over 33 minutes. This race was fun but pretty tough. The first mile was a huge hill. But you know what they say; what goes up...must come down! =) We got hauling down the hill and I seriously felt like a little kid running so fast. I LOVED it!! I have to admit, I was a little concerned about running a 5K at midnight considering I'm usually fast asleep by then. I started getting pretty tired around 10:30, that is, until Mike made us some delicious crepes to fuel us up! =) Here are some pictures of that night with all my goofy friends and my even goofier Hubby!!
Me and Kim...
Me and Ames...
Hubba "stretching"...
Me and Kim stretching...
Yes, I am a little retarded ...But, I was very tired!
Me and Dara...
The girlies...
ALL of us...
Dara at the finish line...fyi, this is not her time. I made her stand in front of the finish line as we were leaving for a picture. =)
The best part, is that Dara loved it and she's already asking me to find another race to do soon. Thanks to all my running peeps that are there by my side and for making these races so much fun! I love you guys to death!!

Another Kayston classic!!!
So, the other day Kayston was watching a movie that I had recorded for him on our DVR . I was in the other room and he started asking me..."hey mommy, when are you going to buy me those Skecher shoes?" Since I was in the other room I didn't see what he was talking about so I just kind of brushed it off and said maybe for school. Well, today the same thing happened. He was watching a movie and said it again. So I thought I better look and see what he's talking about. So I rewound the commercial and this is what he was talking about; SPARKLE TOE SKECHERS! I just laughed and told him that those were for girls. He just smiled and said..."well, can I get some like those that are for boys?" =) Seriously, I don't know how this kid is gonna turn out but you have to admit...he is pretty darn funny!!
what a night...
Last night after we had just gotten the kids to bed around 9:00 (well Kayston, Bry was in be by 7:45) I was in on the computer trying to win a coupon as I usually do on Thursday nights and Preston had just gotten out of the shower. It had been windy all day but it started to get worse as the night went on. Well, Preston had come into help me try to win a coupon and all of the sudden we heard a HUGE gust of wind followed by a bang. I told Preston he better check on the trampoline. Sure enough it was gone and there was a hole in our brand new vinyl fence. When I went out to help I saw the trampoline in the road completely mangled. I couldn't believe how much damage it did. I noticed our safety enclosure in the field so we wanted to see if we could salvage it. Well, it turns out the trampoline in the road was our neighbors and ours was in the field. Our neighbors tramp flew completely over one side of our fence hitting our tramp and they both flew through the other side of the fence. We were able to drag our tramp out of the weeds and over to the garage and take it apart. Surprisingly, ours is in ok shape. A little bent in some places but I think it might be fixable. But, we're not too sure if we want to risk putting it back up again and always having to worry when it's windy.
I was pretty bummed last night and I just kept thinking how sad Kayston is going to be. (I have yet to tell him) But then I realized how much worse it could have been. What if someone was out there or it could have blown into our house and broken some windows or it kept blowing and hit a car as it was passing by. Yeah, it sucks but really it's fine. It's only a trampoline, something that can be fixed or replaced. I am just grateful that no one got hurt.

8 years and counting!!
Today is mine and Preston's 8th wedding anniversary! I seriously can't believe it has already been that long! I'm sure most of you already know this but let me tell you why I love this man SO much.....
1. He would do ANYTHING for anyone. Especially his family!
2. He is an AMAZING hands on Dad. He is always helping with baths, changing diapers, playing games, wrestling, snuggling, getting up in the middle of the night to find a binki, delivering poops when the kiddo's were constipated(is that too much information?) Anyway, you get the picture!
3. He is the hardest worker I know.
4. He loves the gospel.
5. He can always make me laugh.
6. He is a great cook...especially when it's breakfast.
7. He supports me in everything I do.
8. He makes me feel loved.
9. He runs 5K's with me even though he probably would prefer not too.
10. After 8 years of marriage...he still tells me that me that I am "One HOT Mamma!"
11. He loves my family like they're his own.
