Spring break fun...

Kayston had spring break last week and since it was such "nice weather" ha ha, we had to think of things to do inside.
Monday we had good weather so we headed over to the park.
Tuesday we invited our good friends Jess, Eden and AJ to go see the 3d movie, Into the Deep up at the Hansen Planetarium. The kids loved it. Except Kayston kept on pulling his 3d glasses off and on. He thought that it was a different movie with the glasses on. :)
Wednesday I had to work all day so the kids got to spend a fun day at Gramma's house.Thursday we went swimming at the Legacy center, Kayston LOVES that place. Brylee had fun too. Luckily for me,both of my kids love the water.
Friday, my friend Amy watched Brylee so I could take Kayston on a date. We went and watched Monsters VS. Aliens. (Thanks Amy)
Overall it was a pretty fun week. LONG but fun. Unfortunately, I only got pictures at the 3d movie. (I know, I need to start taking my camera with me more.)

Happy Birthday to the worlds BEST Mom!!

So today is my mom's Birthday and since I'm not as talented as her and I can't make a cute video, I decided to write a few things about her.

I think my mom is the most AMAZING person I know. She has taught me so much throughout my life, stuff that you could never be taught in any school. She has loved me and stayed my friend even when I put her through stuff that NO parent should ever have to go through.
I have never met anyone with a kinder heart. I remember growing up, even though we didn't live in the biggest or nicest house...all of my friends always wanted to hang out over at my house. She was like a second mom to a lot of my friends.
Sometimes I wonder how she put up with some of the things I did. At the time, I didn't really think that what I was doing was that bad. But, now that I am a parent my self....I'm surprised she didn't have a heart attack. It scares me to DEATH to think that my kids could one day act like me.
If by chance they do, I hope that I am able to handle it as well as my mom did. She never once gave up on me and she continued to be my friend.

To this day, I consider her to be my best friend. I call her at least 3 times a day and she never gets annoyed or avoids my calls. I feel like I can talk to her about anything and I do. Even my husband will call her just to chat.
I feel that she has made me a better mother just through her example. And even when I'm having "one of those days" with Kayston, I will call her crying and instead of her telling me what I'm doing wrong she will tell me that I am doing an excellent job and that I am a great mother.
I know I'm not a perfect mom and I know I NEVER will be, but if I can be half the mom she was to me...I'll have no regrets.

Not only is she a great mother and mother-in-law, she is the BEST Gramma EVER! My kids absolutely adore her. Whenever we go over there Kayston will tell me to leave so he can stay and play. Without her, Kayston probably wouldn't be able to do a lot of things he does.
While Preston was in school, I had to work a couple of days a week. My mom quit her job that she loved so she could watch Kayston for us. Who does that???
Well, in the time she watched him, they formed a special bond and he learned SO much from her. I have to say, I think Kayston likes Gramma more then he likes mommy and daddy. ;)
My kids are so lucky to have such a wonderful Gramma and to be able to spend so much time with her.Mom,
I could go on and on about how wonderful you are. You are my best friend and I look up to you more than you'll EVER know. You have taught me so much and I can never thank you enough. I am so grateful for everything you have done for me and my family. From always watching our kids to letting us shop in your food storage and of course for all the phone conversations.
I love you so much and I hope you have the BEST Birthday ever.
Love,
Keri
