16 months today....and FiNaLLy walking!

Our sweet little girl sure has taken her time on learning how to walk. Well, she has finally picked it up. She's been able to stand alone for a while now and she could even go from sitting to standing in the middle of the room but would never walk.
The doctors told me that they're not considered "delayed" until 16 months. We showed them huh Bry?
She still crawls if she wants to get somewhere real fast but she thinks she's pretty cool when she's walking.
We just love our little "fatty pie" (that's what her brother calls her) and we are SO grateful that she is part of our family! Good job Bry Bry! Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you!

5K.....

Well, I did it, I ran my first 5K. I have to say, I'm pretty proud of myself. It hasn't even been a year since I had surgery on my knee and I only started running again a month ago. After I had surgery, I honestly thought I would never be able to run again. I would go to the gym and try to run on the treadmill but it hurt so bad so I just stuck with the good old elliptical. =) One night at the gym I was determined to start running again, so after warming up on the elliptical I decided to try and run a little. My knee did pretty well, so every night at the gym I ran a little more.
Anyway, today my knee is doing great. It still gets a little sore here and there but for some reason it doesn't hurt while I'm running. YAY!
So, a couple of weeks ago I decided to sign up for a 5K. Even before my surgery when I used to run a ton, I had never done a race. For some reason I have a much harder time running outside than I do I the treadmill. I pretty much feel like an 80 year old chain smoker! LOL
So, yesterday was the race. I made Preston do it with me so I would have some one to come in last with me. Hahaha!! No, just kidding. He is a great support and I am so happy he was there to run my first race with me.
My time ended up being 32.15. Not the best but good considering over 3/4 of the course was uphill. My goal was to finish under 35 minutes and to not be last!! I made my goal so I am very happy!!
Thanks babe for being there for me and giving me that extra push when I needed it. Thanks Mom and Kim for waking up at the crack of dawn to come out and support us! And thanks Dad for watching the kids so Mom could come!!! You all are the BEST!!! I don't know what I would do without all of you!!
I look forward to more 5K's and maybe even a 10K!!! =)
