How lucky am I?

So yesterday we decided to drive up to Payson Lakes since Preston had never been there and we wanted to scope it out to go camping.
Anyway, we got out of the truck and I was going to put sunblock on the kids. So, being the dummy that I am, I took off my wedding ring so it wouldn't get slimy and set it on Preston's tool box in the back of his truck.
Something must have distracted me (probably Kayston) because I forgot that I took it off and we headed to the lake. After playing by the lake for a while and walking all the way around it we returned to the truck.
Still, not realizing that I was missing my wedding ring, we got back in the truck and started to drive home. (I know, HUH!!)
It wasn't until we got to my mom's house about an hour and a half later, when I realized It was missing. My heart stopped! I asked Preston if he had it because in the past if I left it on the counter he would take it and let me get scared so I would learn my lesson. (obviously that didn't work) He said he didn't have it and that he saw it by the kitchen sink after I gave Brylee a bath. I told him that I had put It on before we left. Then I remembered the lotion and my heart stopped again. All I could do was pray. I was so scared I couldn't even cry. I was about to get in the truck and drive all the way back up there when we decided to look in the back of the truck for a miracle. I now believe in miracles because there it was. It had slid off the tool box into the back of the truck. I couldn't believe it.

Lesson learned? Let the dang ring get slimy!!!!

Happy 4th of July

Our LONG, HOT but FUN 4th of July

I love the 4th of July. We always look forward to all the parades, fireworks and BBQ's.
This 4th was a busy one. We started our day out by waking up at 4:30 in the morning to go see the hot air balloons. Every year they have about 15 to 20 hot air balloons and you can watch them fill them up and take off. It was pretty fun to see.
My favorite part was when they had one balloon lift off and it had an American Flag hanging from it. They were playing "Proud to be an American" and then they had everybody say The Pledge of Allegiance. When the balloon came back down they had a moment of silence. I always get emotional on those kinds of things.
After the balloons we headed over to the Provo parade. I've never been to this parade before and we've heard that it was really good so we decided to check it out. It was CRAZY busy! Thank heavens for Jess & Feleni, they had seats and parking saved other wise we probably would have just given up and gone home.
The parade was not as good as I was expecting. There were hardly any floats, way to many people and they didn't even throw any candy. We ended up leaving early.
We headed home for a nap before going out to my Uncle Randy's house in Tooele for a BBQ.
It was fun to see family that we haven't seen for a while. We ate some good food and visited while the kids played in the water.
After we left we headed home to go see fireworks. For the past few years we've gone to see the fireworks at Thanksgiving Point. We found the best place to watch them. We're able to get so close it feels like you're right under them. This year wasn't as good as the other's but it was still super fun.
Besides the fact that I was sweating ALL day and couple of tantrums from Kayston, we had a great day.
