6 years ago today...

6 years ago today, I was pretty anxious! I was pregnant and due to have my baby any day! I had been dilated for 3 weeks, every week one more centimeter. On this day, which also happened to be a Thursday, I went to my scheduled weekly doctors appointment. I had decided to finally ask her to strip my membranes to hurry up the process. As she was checking me she told me that I was at a 5. Are you kidding me? Why have I not had this baby? So, as she continued to check me, Preston made the SILLY remark that it would be okay if she accidentally broke my water. Ha Ha! Well, not even 20 seconds later, that exact thing happened! My water had broke and got all over the chair the floor and yes...even the doctor.
You always think that you are SO ready to have this baby until it is really happening. I started to get pretty scared at that point!
The doctor told me that she would see me over at the hospital in a little while. So, I packed my pants with those blue liners that they use on hospital beds and I was on my way!!
Before making it to the hospital though, I had to stop off at my work to let everybody know that I was finally having my baby!
When we got to the hospital, my parents were already there freaking out cause I wasn't there yet. They looked at me like I was crazy when I told them I stopped at the Credit Union first!
When I finally got all situated, the nurse came in to check me. I was at a 7 and still having NO contractions!! I thought this was going to be a walk in the park! Well, not too long after that, the contractions started coming. I was able to bare them for a while but then they started coming FAST and STRONG! I of course opted for an epidural. Awwww, heaven! Anyway, when it finally came time to push, my little guy had a different plan. He did not want to come out of his comfy little home. I ended up pushing for over 3 1/2 hours with NO progress what so ever. So, the doctor finally said that we were going to have to have a C-section. Not exactly what I was hoping for or expecting, but at this point I was so exhausted, I just wanted him OUT!!!
So, at 8:20 PM, we delivered a 7lb 9oz little boy! We were ecstatic! My whole life I wanted to be a mommy and it had finally happened!!

6 years ago today, our lives changed forever!

We are so blessed to have this little boy in our lives! Even though he has brought us MANY hard times, he has also brought so much joy into our lives and has taught us SO much! I think that we have learned more from him than he has from us!!
Kayston is the silliest most creative kid I know. He is so energetic and wants to experience everything life has to offer! This kid has NO fear and will show up a 12 year old on the rock wall any day!! We love you so much buddy and we are SO thankful that you are a part of our family!!

Happy 6th Birthday! Love, Mommy, Daddy & Brylee!!

I can't believe it's been six years! The best six years of my life! Being a Gramma is the best! The minute I touched this boy, held him in my arms, the thought came to me,

"LITTLE BOY, YOU JUST MADE ME ETERNAL."

I, too, have great expectations for you, the greatest of which is to always love your Gramma!

Happy Birthday, my little buddy!
