Brylee has had a fun couple of weeks!!! It started out with her being the "star of the week" at school! She has been waiting for a long time for it to be her turn so she was pretty excited!!
This is the poster we made for her to take to school!
It lists all her favorite things (or at least most of them)....
*dance
*playing games
*princesses
*Disneyland
*coloring
*soccer
*family
*and having exchange students from Japan
Brylee turns 6...
On Friday of that week it was her Birthday and she was super excited to get to have her Birthday at school! But before school we took her and Kenley out to lunch at her choice...Old McDonalds!! =) I love that she still calls it that!!
Gramma Robertson sent her some rain boots for her birthday so of course she just had to wear them to school that day!!!
The Birthday Party.....
So, I know this sounds bad but I have NEVER thrown a real Birthday party for my kids before! I think we did a BBQ with family for Kayston's 1st Birthday and a luncheon after his baptism but as far as a friends party...I try to avoid them at all cost! Up until now, I have always gotten away with having them choose a friend and taking them somewhere fun like a movie or trafalga or something like that. Well, I thought I had Bry talked into taking a few friends to get hair and makeup done but then one of her friends had a frozen birthday party so she HAD to have a frozen party too!
There was no changing her mind on this one so I gave in and started stressing, I mean planning, for a birthday party! =)
I was pretty nervous because I know how parties are these days and I wasn't about to spend hundreds of dollars on party. I found lots of free printables online and cut out LOTS of snowflakes and went from there!!
Our "melted snow" drinks!
The "do you want to build a snowman" table!
I found a printable online of Olaf that the girls glued together!
The homemade snowflake decor!
The stairway up to our winter wonderland!
So, the pictures don't really do justice for the upstairs but we hing lights and tons of snowflakes!
Time to get this party started!! Bry invited 16 friends and 15 came so we had A LOT of girls!!!
This smile makes all the late nights and stress worth it!
This girl blinks on half the pictures I take of her!! I totally blame the Robertson side of the family for that one!!
Dance party!
Pin the nose on Olaf!
A curtsy is always necessary with this girl!
Kayston thought he was pretty cool being the only boy and getting to help out!!
Funny story, about 20 minutes before the party I saw him asking Brylee for all names of the girls that were coming and he was writing them down in a notepad. I didn't pay too much attention but then as the girls started coming he was crossing their name off the list!! I love that he wanted to be a helper instead of hiding out in his room the whole time!
Time for presents!! I think the girls were just as excited to give their present to Bry as she was to get them!! It was almost like a mosh pit at times with all the girls trying to see what she got! =)
Bry was spoiled by all her friends!! I tried to get pictures of her with all her presents but I had to do a little body guard work there for a minute! Haha!
After cupcakes we sent all the girls up to the winter wonderland for a special showing of frozen!! They were all SO excited! I loved listening to them all sing along with the movie!!
After the party was over we sent them home with their very own bag of "snow". I'm pretty proud that I thought this up all by myself!! I was stressing over party favors (BTW why do we need to give kids gifts for coming to our party? Haha!) anyway, I came up with this and luckily it worked out just how I imagined it!! It turned out so cute and the kids loved it!!!
I'm pretty sure I broke all sorts of copyright laws with this party but desperate times call for desperate measures, right? ;)
I love all these girls and I'm so thankful that Bry has so many great friends!!! I have to say that my first party was a success and as happy I am that its over, I really did have a great time putting it together!!
I seriously can't believe Brylee is 6 already!! She is so fun (when she's not being drama) and she is such a good helper! She is the BEST big sister and she LOVES kindergarten! She loves her friends and is so sweet to everyone! We can't go anywhere without her meeting new friends! She loves doing anything crafty and she really takes her time and tries to do the very best that she can. She is doing awesome in school and begs me to do homework!
She had her well child the other day and she is still off the charts in her height and about 50% in weight! She has been my pickiest eater so the weight doesn't really surprise me!
Her favorite food is cereal and would eat it every meal if I would let her! We are crazy about this sweet girl and we're so happy she is in our family!!! Love you my cute 6 year old!!!
Crazy hair day....
Bry had crazy hair day at school this last week and all I can say is crazy hair day is way more fun with a girl!! Don't get me wrong, I had fun trying to come up with some crazy things for Kayston's hair but it just isn't the same!!
We have been waiting forever for this girl to lose a tooth! It seems like all her friends have already lost teeth and she has been dying to lose one too! All 4 of her front teeth are pretty loose so I'm hoping she will lose the rest soon and have that adorable toothless smile!!
This particular tooth had been super loose for a while and about a week ago I tried pulling it out with floss but I was a chicken and didn't pull hard enough. After that she wouldn't let anyone mess with it. A couple days ago I talked her into letting me "floss" it again but promised I wouldn't yank it. Well, sometimes as a parent, we have to break promises if its the best thing for our kid, right? So, I yanked and the first time it didn't come out but I knew if I didn't get it that time she would never let us try again so I hurried and yanked again and it came right out!! She didn't cry... that is until she realized I lied to her about not yanking! She just couldn't believe that her own mom would lie!! haha! A hug and a trip to the dollar store was all it took for her to forgive me!! =)
That night she wrote a note to the tooth-fairy asking if she could PLEASE keep her first tooth to put in her baby book!! Luckily our tooth-fairy left her tooth along with some money and a sucker!!! =)

I love that you are becoming the crafty one! Great job on the party, and oh, yeah, lying to your child!! Just kidding! I love, love, love your blog!
Happy Birthday to Brylee! She is such a beautiful girl! You are the nicest mom with your party and it helps me calm down about Jessie's to see how someone else did it (I just need a good example of what to do!). I also love that she begs you to do homework. Super cool.
I loved reading about Brylee and that awesome party you pulled off! Way to go!!
