Saturday, we dropped Kenley off at my parents house and took the older kids to a movie. We finally got to see "Chipwrecked". The kids LOVED it!!
Saturday night, we let Kayston choose where he wanted to go for dinner. He of course chose Olive Garden his all time fave! Our waiter was awesome and brought him out a special treat and had some of his waiter friends join him and they sang "Happy Birthday" to him! He usually opts out for this but not this year. He loved every second of it!
Sunday, his actual Birthday, he got to go to Church with just mommy (since the girls were still a little sick) and he got to sit by his best buddy, Jaxon. He made sure to tell EVERYONE that it was his Birthday. When we got home, we found that daddy had made a delicious steak dinner and it was all set out ready to eat!
After dinner, we had some friends and family come over for some YUMMY Costco birthday cake and presents. We were so happy that he chose an actual cake this year instead of an apple pie like last year!!! Ha ha!
Monday, Grandma and Grandpa Robertson came all the way down from Idaho so we had them over, along with Jakob and Uncle Bryan, for a spaghetti dinner and more cake!!!!! (I am lame and didn't take any pictures with them or at our movie!)
Kayston had such a fun Birthday weekend. He has been SO excited to turn 8 so he could get baptized and be a scout!!!!
I just can't believe my first baby is 8!! It feels like just yesterday I was cleaning up his throw up for the 5th time in one day! =)
These past 8 years have been some of the craziest years of our lives. We have learned SO much from being Kayston's parents! I say it all the time that he has taught us way more than we have taught him. Even though the past 8 years has been some of the most challenging, I wouldn't change it for a second! We love this crazy, hyper, silly, sweet, funny, sensitive, mischievous boy of ours! We are so proud of him and we can't wait to see what kind of young man he turns in to!
Dinner at Olive Garden
I had to throw in ths pic...Kenley absolutely adores Kayston and she was giving him some Birthday love! |
My mom knows Kayston all too well so when she saw this MORPH suit she just had to get it for him!! And boy does he love it!
In a few short weeks, Kayston will get to do something he's been waiting to do for a long time!! He'll be getting BAPTIZED!!!!! Yay!CAUTION: if you happen to be at the baptism I must warn you that the mother of the baptizee, (yes, I know that's not even a word but I don't care!) will be a HOT MESS! I get emotional just thinking about it! MY. BABY. IS. GETTING. BAPTIZED!!!!!!
